Há ameaças da Alcaida, há gente na polícia que não acredita que as autoridades tenham suporte e disponibilidade para vir a prender mulheres com véus islâmicos nos bairros dominados por muçulmanos, mas há também, pelo meio, uma passagem bastante esperançosa: nacionalistas e feministas manifestaram-se igualmente, ao mesmo tempo que os muçulmanos, mas em apoio da proibição da burca, no que constitui um primeiro sinal da «estranha», mas na verdade absolutamente lógica, aliança entre feministas e nacionalistas contra o véu islâmico: porque só mesmo o culto da cultura e sobretudo do modo de ser da Europa é que pode servir de travão ao pensamento subordinador da mulher que está subjacente ao uso do véu islâmico.

Infelizmente, acho que a interacção feminismo-nacionalismo é um bocado mais improvável do que poderá parecer à partida, mesmo havendo manifestações como esta.
É que apesar de haver algumas feministas que percebem a ameaça que o Islão representa para os direitos das mulheres, a ideologia feminista assenta num conceito que me parece incompatível com o nacionalismo: o patriarcado.
O patriarcado é uma espécie de versão da Matrix que as feministas subscrevem. Na sua versão fundamental, consiste num regime instituído ao longo de séculos por homens brancos, fortemente religiosos, etnocêntricos e imperialistas. As feministas defendem que o patriarcado é o regime vigente no Ocidente, em que os homens detêm a autoridade não apenas sobre elas e sobre os direitos da família mas também sobre toda a propriedade, incluindo os meios de produção, bem como a exclusividade dos privilégios de governação, domínio económico e intelectual.
O problema desta visão é que ela é perfeitamente compatível com os ideais da esquerda pura e dura: colectivismo, anti-conservadorismo e, claro está, multiculturalismo. Não é por caso que o feminismo aparece frequentemente associado aos movimentos de esquerda e parece-me muito difícil conseguirmos fazer passar as feministas para o nosso lado: o nacionalismo assenta na preservação da família e dos valores tradicionais, ao passo que o feminismo, como tudo o que é de esquerda, aspira à sua destruição.
Feminismo e esquerda complementam-se, porque ambos têm como objectivo a destruição do homem branco. Feminismo e nacionalismo opõem-se, porque o objectivo do nacionalismo é a perpetuação da estirpe e da sua herança, enquanto o objectivo do feminismo é a erradicação da herança através da aniquilação da estirpe.

On the 11th of March, two Arab Muslim men climbed through the window of a home in the village of Ithamar, and massacred an entire family, killing both parents, stabbing a 4 year old boy twice in the chest, murdering an 11 year old while he sat up reading in bed and slitting the throat of a 3 month old baby girl.
A week later, Israeli and Arab pollsters conducted a survey in the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem. A third of the Arabs surveyed supported these atrocities.
All the justifications for a Palestinian state fall away in the face of this simple fact. That a third of the residents of any Palestinian state favor the murder of Jewish children. Not to achieve any larger goal, but just because they are Jewish children. To call for a Palestinian state in the face of that fact is to advocate genocide.
The Arab Muslims who approved of the attack gained nothing from their deaths. The dead children were not soldiers. They were not killed as collateral damage. Their deaths had no strategic value. There was no reason to kill them, but for the sake of killing them.
After exiting the house, Amjad told officials that he could not resist the urge to go back in and kill 3-month-old Hadas Fogel, who was left crying amidst her parents’ blood.
Amjad also said that had he known there were two other children sleeping in the house, he would have killed them, too.
Following the attack, the youths returned to their nearby village and informed various family members of their villainous deed. An uncle helped hide the knives, burn the bloody clothes and get rid of the M-16 rifle they had stolen. Other family members helped cover up the murder in other ways.

2 jihadists arrested in murder of Fogel family
The Jerusalem Post reports that the IDF has captured 2 culprits in the bloodbath of the Fogel family in Itamar (Hat tip: Jihad Watch):
Two Palestinian youths from the village of Awarta were arrested in recent days for the brutal slaying of five members of the Fogel family in their Itamar home last month, the IDF and Shin Bet said on Sunday following the lifting of a media ban on the investigation.
The suspects have been named as Hakim Maazan Niad Awad, an 18-year-old high school student, and Amjad Mahmud Fauzi Awad, 19, both from the West Bank village of Awarta, located 2 kilometers south of the settlement of Itamar.
The suspects have confessed to the stabbings and re-enacted the murders, security forces said on Sunday. According to Army Radio, they did not express remorse for their crimes.
Both men are affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PLFP) terror group and received significant assistance from family members and friends after the attack, security forces added.
The suspects planned the stabbings days ahead of time. On the night of March 11, after unsuccessful attempts to obtain firearms from a local PFLP representative in their village, the two set out toward Itamar on foot, armed with knives, a wirecutter and masks to cover their faces.
