Não sei ao certo, lembro-me só de o ouvir dizer ao oponente que é ridículo imaginar que vai poder sentar-se à mesa com os aiatolas ou com os talibãs para negociar a questão dos imigrantes e, nisto, o indiano tem razão. O líder trabalhista ou é anormalmente ingénuo ou está a querer atirar areia aos olhos do «povinho». Só mesmo com a deportação para países terceiros é que a Europa alivia o sufoco imigracional.

«The attribution of this ethnonym to Portuguese Americans began with the federal government and the confusion and discord that arose when deciding whose businesses would be eligible for affirmative action contracting programs for minority-owned businesses.
In 1977, the federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) clarified that the term Hispanic did not include “those of Portuguese origin, specifically people from Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad, Belize and Portugal” (Brune).
In 1980, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) – not wanting to exclude people from the largest country in South America, Brazil – adopted its own definition of Hispanic that included people of “Spanish and Portuguese culture with origins in Mexico, South or Central America or the Caribbean Islands,” a description that excluded the European Portuguese and Spanish (Brune).
Less than one year later, under a new administration and pressure from a Hispanic American Contractors group that petitioned for inclusion of Hispanic people of European origin, DOT decided to include the Spanish. And, so as not to exclude the Brazilians, DOT added the designation "of Portuguese origin,” thus extending the ethnonym to people from Portugal (Brune).
By happenstance, in 1983, the Portuguese were left out of the definition of Hispanic added by Congress to section 8d of the Small Business Act (SBA).
This exclusion was met with protest by Portuguese-American contractors and some of their representatives in Congress. The Portuguese were added back into the description of Hispanic by the Small Business Administration in 1986 and by DOT in 1997 (Brune).
In some US states, the Portuguese were also granted minority status, and this, as well, proved to be of substantial benefit to some Portuguese-owned businesses. Recently, some of these states have rescinded the classification of “minority” for Portuguese business.
Can the Portuguese be labeled Hispanic in states and other jurisdictions where they are no longer, or never were, officially classified as a minority group eligible for “set asides” in public contracting?
Further, should a population that does not self-identify as Hispanic be attributed this ethnonym?
In the 1980 census, 12% of Portuguese immigrants identified as Hispanic. An analysis by the PewResearchCenter of tabulations from the 2018 American Community Survey shows that only 1% of immigrants from Portugal self-identified as Hispanic (Lopez et al.).
Presently, the US Census Bureau excludes both the Portuguese and Brazilians under its Hispanic ethnic category (Garcia).»

Não entendi isso assim. O que me pareceu que ele estava a dizer era que ia deportar a generalidade dos ilegais para o Ruanda, não ia estar à espera que o Irão, a Síria e o Afeganistão se dignassem aceitar de volta os seus cidadãos, ou seja, fica subentendido que os ilegais oriundos desses três países serão igualmente deportados para o Ruanda.

Respeita? Ou respeita ou pura e simplesmente beneficia todas as minorias não muçulmanas porque ele próprio é laico e quer apoiar tudo o que não seja islamista, ao mesmo tempo que o apoio a minorias de algum modo próximas do Ocidente, salvo seja, pode-lhe valer uma maior simpatia por parte da Rússia e até, mui indirectamente, dos EUA.
